The Opportunity
Cardenas Consulting Group (CCG) is looking for a highly skilled individual to join the team as a QA Consultant for community agencies that provide services through Medi-Cal contracts. This role is an important part of our client teams that provides analysis, research, project support, and facilitation related to the management of Quality Assurance and Billing activities. Occasional travel within California may be required to achieve project objectives.
The selected individual will deliver high quality professional services at the direction of project leads. The scope and services in our projects vary widely, but result in a superior value for our clients. A sample of services we provide:
Organizational Assessment: Evaluate the agency, create change management plan, and assist with implementation design.

Medi-Cal Licensing: Preparation, application, audit preparation, and response.
Audit Response: Review audit findings, create a plan, and submit responses to address financial or service audit findings.
Training: Design and deliver custom training to agency leadership and/or program teams. Examples: QA best practices, CPT coding essentials,
Responsibilities
The QA Consultant is an important part of our projects team. They will provide direct consultation services to behavioral health agencies and other clients of Cardenas Consulting Group. The QA Consultant serves as a critical hub of project activity, enabling top notch services, and a better system of care for the state’s children and youth.
The QA Consultant will:
Support the project lead to guide and support clients to identify project goals and clarify project scopes.
Attend and guide meetings with clients and client partners.
Assist clients to determine technical assistance needs and appropriate deliverables.
Provide direct consultation to agencies in areas of expertise, including needs assessment, change management planning and support in implementing recommendations.
Collaborate with other CCG staff to ensure that project deliverables are clearly identified and achieved.
Develop and deliver training materials and technical assistance related to Quality Assurance and Billing practices.
Review client documents and provide analytical, summary, and/or comparative information.
Perform research on laws, regulations, or practices in behavioral health and Medi-Cal benefits.
Draft project documents, templates, presentations, or other materials.
Engage in day-to-day communications with clients, including project status updates, meeting preparation and agendas, meeting facilitation, etc.
Support CCG in developing and advancing its practice areas, including tools and products for client engagements and blog posts/webinars as communications and marketing strategies.
Actively cultivate relationships with peers and colleagues in the field, maintaining CCG’s presence at conferences, workgroups and events (e.g. giving presentations, designing and facilitating workshops etc.).
Other projects/responsibilities may be added in response to the successful candidate’s interests and abilities.
Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a field related to health, psychology or child welfare
Experience managing QA/Billing activities for a Medi-Cal funded program
Experience managing an Electronic Health Record (EHR) system for Medi-Cal services
Leadership experience in a behavioral health organization
Excellent project management, analytical, and organizational skills
Very strong writing skills for a professional audience
Keen attention to detail
Above average technical skills (MS Office Suite, Google Suite, Project management tools, Online productivity services)
